Gansu Electric Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (Gansu Electric Group), established in September 2018, is a large-scale specialized group formed through the integration and reorganization of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee and the Gansu Provincial Government to strengthen, optimize, and expand Gansu's electrical, electrical, and electronic information industries. It is a provincially-owned Class A state-owned commercial enterprise. Invested by Gansu State-owned Assets Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Gansu Xinye Asset Management Co., Ltd., it has a registered capital of 3.127 billion yuan.

Gansu Electric Group comprises eight major industrial clusters, including the listed Lanzhou Great Wall Electric Co., Ltd. (which holds controlling stakes in Tianshui Great Wall Switchgear Group Co., Ltd., Tianshui 213 Electric Group Co., Ltd., Tianshui Electric Drive Research Institute Group Co., Ltd., and Great Wall Electric Tianshui Electric Group Co., Ltd.), Lanzhou Electric Motor Co., Ltd., Gansu University of Technology Stage Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., and Lanzhou University of Technology Alloy Powder Co., Ltd., as well as three specialized engineering companies, with total assets of nearly 11 billion yuan. Its subsidiaries, Changkai Factory Company, 213 Company, Tianchuan Institute Company, and Changkong Company, are all state-owned enterprises relocated to Tianshui during the Third Front construction period in the late 1960s and early 1970s, originating from the Beijing Switch Factory, Shenyang 213 Machine Tool and Electrical Equipment Factory, Tianjin Electric Drive Design Institute, and Shenyang Low-Voltage Switch Factory. Landian Co., Ltd. was established in 1958 by the former Ministry of Machinery as the largest motor manufacturing backbone enterprise in Northwest China.

Gansu Electric Group primarily engages in the research and development, production, sales, and general contracting of power transmission and distribution, electrical components, electrical drive and automation, motors, stage equipment, and alloy materials. The group currently employs 1,820 professional and technical personnel, including 30 with senior professional titles, 222 with associate senior engineers, and 671 with intermediate professional titles. One person has been selected for the Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project, two are experts receiving State Council subsidies, four are recognized as Gansu Province Leading Talents, three are recognized as Gansu Province High-Level Professional and Technical Personnel, and three are recognized as Longyuan Young Talents. The company boasts 36 provincial-level and above scientific and technological R&D platforms, including national enterprise technology centers, national-local joint laboratories, national-local joint engineering centers, and national industrial design centers. It also boasts two postdoctoral research workstations and 57 system integration qualifications. The company has presided over or participated in the formulation and revision of 148 national and industry standards, received 44 national science and technology awards, holds 783 valid patents, and boasts nine product categories, over 3,500 series, and more than 20,000 specifications. Products developed include large-parameter AC vacuum circuit breakers for ships, nuclear power 1E-class medium-voltage switchgear, the GSC5 series next-generation intelligent AC contactors, ultra-low-temperature (-60°C) drilling rig electronic control systems, and the TMW2600-30/2900 large synchronous brushless variable-frequency motors, breaking the monopoly of foreign technology and achieving comprehensive domestic substitution. The "BRing Diode Iron Power Supply for the High-Intensity Heavy Ion Accelerator Booster," a major national scientific project under the 12th Five-Year Plan, developed jointly with the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has overcome four core technical challenges and is the world's first large-scale non-resonant, fully energy-storage, fast-cycle pulse power supply. Furthermore, technologies such as the internet-based performance equipment operation and maintenance big data and remote stage equipment operation and maintenance service technology, stage flexible cable parallel robot technology, and new high-performance rare earth nickel-chromium alloy powder materials are filling gaps in China.

Gansu Electric Group's products are widely used in power generation and transmission and distribution, new energy, petroleum and petrochemicals, nonferrous metals, metallurgy, coal, transportation, water conservancy, construction, and weaponry. They are exported to over 60 countries and regions across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. The company has provided products and services for numerous key national, provincial, and municipal projects, including the Three Gorges Dam, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the West-East Gas Pipeline, the Shenzhou spacecraft, satellite bases, nuclear power plants, polar exploration, and the Dunhuang Grand Theater.

Gansu Electric Group's "Great Wall" and "213" trademarks have been recognized as "Well-known Trademarks in China," its "Landian" brand small and medium-sized motors have been named a "Famous Brand in China's Machinery Industry," and its "TEDRI," "Changkong," "Gongda," and "Lan Ligong" brands have been recognized as Gansu Famous Brands.
